Highland Avenue House Pattern

Create a cozy space with this house-shaped pillow—a modern take on a historic home.

I designed this house with the historic homes on Highland Avenue in Rochester, NY in mind. In 6th grade, our art teacher took us on an architectural tour through the city. My parents also love historic homes and often stopped to look at open houses around the city “just for fun”. Though I no longer live there, I never lost my appreciation for the beautiful homes in upstate New York.

This charming house pillow is sophisticated enough for your living room and fun enough for your kids’ rooms. The scalloped roof tiles add depth and texture, while also providing a place for you to experiment with different fabric combinations.

Finished Dimensions are approx. 16″ x 20″

(you should be comfortable sewing curves, learning to install a zipper, and trying basic appliqué)

The Highland Avenue House pattern includes step-by-step illustrations, supplemental photos, along with detailed instructions. I’ve also included lots of extra tips to help you achieve a beautifully finished pillow. The pillow bottom has an invisible zipper closure, allowing you to remove the pillow forms to gently wash the cover if necessary.
