Hello! I’m Sara Curtis.
I started Radiant Home Studio in 2013 as a way to share creativity, beauty, sewing inspiration, and to connect with this amazing creative community. Community has become such a huge part of what I do: as a community manager in a surface pattern design course, connecting in my local community, and encouraging love & community building through my products.
My parents often took spontaneous road trips to quaint little villages and some busy big cities. Our travels (which I didn’t always appreciate) cultivated a passion for beauty as we studied the scenery, architecture, and art found on those excursions.
I began my journey into graphic design as I learned to create sewing patterns. I fell in love with color and pattern, which inspired me to learn surface pattern design.
I’m a maker. I make beautiful patterns for products, including fabric, children’s wall art, stationery, and other home goods. I sew and create sewing patterns for you!
Sara Curtis is the founder of Overflow & Co. Based in Durham, NC, Sara lives with her husband of 20 years and their 7 children. She loves connecting with new people and exploring all of the great local food and shops in Durham, but let’s be honest, can also be a bit of a homebody.
Sara’s sewing patterns have been showcased in multiple sewing magazines and craft books, and her pattern designs and illustrations have been licensed by Clothworks (quilting fabric), Greenbox Art + Culture (children’s wall art), Mermaid Straw (drinkware), Minted & Target (greeting cards & stationery).
Sara especially loves working with makers, small businesses, and eco-friendly brands that value community, connection, generosity, and hope. Please reach out if you would like to collaborate!
