How to Make Happy Origami Hearts

Crafts

My oldest daughter received an origami kit as a gift a couple of years ago. It was the perfect thing for her and she quickly memorized dozens of folds, including origami hearts. She has used this fun paper folding skill to entertain children in situations where they need to be quiet. She also regularly gives away pretty origami sculptures to crying children in stores, to neighbors, and to her friends.

While we’re here at home (for anyone reading this later…we’re in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic), we decided to do a collaborative craft project. We created two videos. In this video, she teaches you how to fold origami hearts. And later we’ll show you how to create a happy heart garland for your window.

The only supplies you’ll for this craft is a stack of origami paper. Here is the 6″ Rainbow pattern origami paper we used in the video. We also like this  6″ Kaleidoscope pattern origami paper. For our garland, we also used this 4″ Japanese washi pattern origami paper which has more muted colors.

Without further ado, our first craft video:

How to Make Happy Origami Hearts!

Check out our next video to see how we make a beautiful garland featuring all of these origami hearts. It’s super fun to watch us fold a couple dozen hearts in fast motion!

Enjoyed making rainbow hearts as hearts in washi patterns.

Having trouble stringing rainbow hearts (6” size as video shows).
Bakers twine is too thick but thought that was what being shown.

What kind of string/thread was used in video doing vertical heart origami?

    Really like your site.
