Raised Fabric is available for preorder through Clothworks. Ask your local quilt shop if they will be ordering!
I have a few samples of Raised fabric which I used to make a throw pillow! I don’t have a full tutorial, but I’ll share my steps. For those of your that quilt and sew regularly, it should be a fairly simple project.
My goal was to show how the fabric collection works together for quilters and home dec sewists. I hope it gives you some ideas about how you might use Raised fabric for your own projects!
The back is made from the special run of linen cotton. It’s perfect for pillows and curtains!
I used a 6″ equilateral triangle template to cut 3-4 pieces of 4 fabrics. The triangles were placed randomly so that the same fabrics were not touching each other. Then, I sewed each row across and sewed the rows together.
I trimmed the pieced triangles to an 18″ square. To quilt, I sandwiched a layer of fleece batting between the quilt top and a layer of white linen. Quilting stitches along the diagonals next to each seam are simple, but effective in accenting the triangle shapes.
I added a zipper with a flap (mostly because I didn’t have an invisible zipper or anything that matched on hand). You can use any zippered pillow tutorial to finish the pillow.
